GRAND OPENING

RITZ-CARLTON HONG KONG

The much anticipated opening of the highest hotel in the world in 2011 opened with a spectacular party conceived, produced and managed by RSP in the fabulous Spring of its opening.

The Highest Hotel in the World opens with Hong Kong’s Longest Dragon

Par 1 With numerous VIPs in attendance, the hotel’s Grand Opening started with a formal opening ceremony for the building and hotel owners and management, their guests, government officials and the press. In keeping with the buzz surrounding the opening RSP commissioned the longest dragon ever seen in Hong Kong resplendent in Ritz- Carlton blue and silver to perform the traditional dragon dance in the hotel forecourt which had been transformed from a scenic driveway to a press gallery, bandstand and set for the dragon. The Ritz dragon was led by a troupe of flag dancers who cavorted up the two hundred and ten metre red carpet.

After the formal addresses, International Star mezzo-soprano and classical-popular crossover singer Katherine Jenkins performed her first number for the night as the sun went down over the Hong Kong harbour.

The Hotel Opened

Once the formal opening ceremony was complete, those guests and the press were welcomed into the hotel and up to the 103rd floor main lobby for the first public look before the rest of the party guests began arriving via the red carpet.

Inside RSP created interactive entertainment and live music while canapés and champagne flowed freely giving guests a taste of the high life in the Ritz-Carlton restaurants and bars.

“RSP were highly professional and creative in executing a world-class event befitting the iconic opening of Ritz-Carlton’s flagship hotel in Asia.”
